According to Michio Kaku, a relatively mainstream scientist, the Earth is in for some seriously rough space weather around 2012.

Here he is on Fox discussing that satellites might get disrupted in 2012. He claims scientists have made a mistake in predicting the seriousness of the upcoming solar storm and that the mistake's margin of error was off by a factor of 20. As he asks, "What if our communications systems went down?"

Sorry, but IMO Michio Kaku is a second-rate hack, a "TV scientist", if you will. Similar to Carl Sagan, but Sagan had a much more impressive body of work before he became a media star.

there are soo many different - and imho good - sources for information on 2012 one need not use michio as a source. contrary to what many people believe about the 'ancients' .. many old civilizations had truly advanced technologies and especially in astronomy. at least half dozen believe that 2012 is a MAJOR year for trouble.

having done nearly 3 yrs of research into 'planet x'/wormwood (even tho its not really a planet), i've made the following conclusion:

the Bible is correct and a massive celestial object is approaching our sun and planet earth. observing the dramatic, and increasing, disruptions to our planet - including climate, earthquakes, volcanoes, rotational speed, magnetic field strength, etc - can only come from such a massive object.

we build the most expensive, most sophisticaed astronomical observatory in human history .. at the south pole(!) .. and for what?

we (now) censor astronomical data from satellites .. why??

our military recently decided to 'classify' all incoming "space junk" .. for what possible reason!!??

NOTHING can explain all this stuff happening so suddenly except an approaching Wormwood.

If he is talking about a "magnetic shield" it's safe to assume he doesn't know anything useful. A magnetic is not a shield, it is the cross product of electric charge and motion. Most scientists still speak of "solar wind", ignoring the fact that it is composed of charged particles, and they are moving. That makes a whopping difference in predicting what will happen.

Most unusual thing about this cycle and solar storms to date is how few there are.

Kaku has the problem of selling fear of crime when crime has dropped to record lows.
Oh and BTW, the lingering cycle changeover has pushed the expected peak past the magical 2012 date.

I haven't really had the chance to study about Wormwood and Planet X at all. Can you point me in the direction of any good sites on the subject? Also I never heard about all astronomical data being censored and all incoming space junk being classified.

The Earth's magnetic field acts as a shield from the charged particles the Sun ejects (the "solar wind"). Any astronomy text will tell you the "solar wind" is charged particles ejected from the Sun, so not sure what's wrong with that. The magnetic field deflects them in a toroidal shape around the Earth's equator. Calling it a magnetic shield is not really lying, it's simply saying that if there was no magnetic field, we'd get bombarded by the solar wind.

I'm making no claim about the science being argued here, just defending the use of the word magnetic shield and solar wind.
